The KDD Cup 2007 competition consisted of two different problems: Given the Netflix Prize dataset, the tasks were to predict
- predict which user rated which item in the year 2006 (an item prediction task), and
- predict how many ratings in 2006 were performed by each user.
The KDD Cup workshop was held at KDD 2007 in San Jose, California. In addition to contributions from the cup participants, there were also papers from leading participants of the Netflix Prize.
